It's a waiting game...

So we have our offer that has been accepted, and the listing agent has set up all of our paperwork. We have the inspection scheduled, and we are just waiting to go. Now, if Fannie Mae would just sign the contract they have had sitting on their desk for 3 days I would TRULY appreciate it!!!

ACCEPTED!!!!

Jay and I, as you know, have been battling back and forth over a foreclosure with the bank. If not, see my blog about corporate America! We have finally found a number that we can both agree on and have decided to buy this house!! Who's exicted?? We sent in our earnest money today and have scheduled to have it inspected. Can't wait! Anything can happen at this point, you never know what an inspection will uncover, but we are obviously staying optimistic that this is the house we will be moving into! Keep your prayers coming, and we will get some pics updated soon!

Flowers for a Friend

My favorite blonde friend and her husband are coming into town this weekend, so you know I had to make something sweet! I saw some cute flower cookies and decided I would break out my flower cookie cutters and just decorate them in some fun colors. I got teal, bright pink, and (how did I not own this color before?) orange! I have really decided that decorating cookies is an extremely relaxing hobby. Now, if I just knew enough people that would take all of these cookies from me so I don't become HUGE! I think that these turned out pretty cute, not sure I'm in love with the teal ones, but the rest I would definitely make again. It's all about learning and re-creating! Also, it was my first experiment with edible glitter, and let's just say if I could glitter everything I would at this point! Everyone needs a little sparkle in their life!

Orange outline, white flood, and orange glitter!

Orange outline, orange flood, and tons of glitter! Wasn't sure what to do with these after I glittered them!

Teal outline, teal flood, white flower!

Pink outline, pink flood, orange center, and white dots for a little something extra ;)

Bidding Wars

As you all know, Jay and I have spent most of our free time trying to find a place to call home. We found what we have been looking for. Great house, great neighborhood, amazing amenities, etc. We are now in a bidding war with the bank, since it is foreclosed and the bank now owns it. We send in an offer, they counter at list, we send another, they come 1000 off of list. I mean it has been sitting there since early April without any offers, and here we are trying to get it off their books. It is seriously amazing to me how someone can sit at their computer all day, not make any decisions on their own, and just recite what the computer says. Do you realize you would make quite a bit of money on each offer we have made? Instead of sitting down and strategically thinking through it, they do what the computer tells them to do. Banks could make quite a bit more money if they trained and allowed their employees to act on their behalf with the best of their ability. That is my rant on corporate America today! GIVE ME MY HOUSE!!

A Mother Daughter Affair

Last night my mom, sister and I went to Masterpiece Mixers to take a painting class and drink some wine together! We had such a blast. Jay thought I was going to a real painting class where I was going to learn technique and may end up being a brilliant painter. I so admire him for believing that I could be good at anything if I tried! It was really just a step by step program where we did more chatting and catching up than learning. However, Jay did think that my first "masterpiece" was definitely worthy of space next to his work on the wall. For me, I couldn't be anymore excited if Tory Burch asked me to hang one of my designs in her store!

Mom and Paige getting ready for class to begin!

Adding the orange. I know this was Paige's favorite color and she was so glad they chose it for her! ; )

My cross!

My mom's painting after she added the abstract lines.

Mine doesn't look as good after the lines. She said to put white on and then smear it so it blends with the orange...well my orange was dry and nothing blended...oh well!

Anyone who knows me knows I like to have order to everything I do. Clean lines are a must...so when she told me to pick up a glob of paint, take my shoes off, put my painting on the floor and go to town I wasn't quite sure what to do. Who knew throwing paint could be so liberating though?

My finished piece!

The ladies! They all look soo good!

Rocking out our smocks!!

When we were done we could sign the wall. Of course it turned into a football argument...are you new? BTW...WAR DAMN!! Ha...Paige you can't cover that on my blog like you tried on the wall!

All in all, we had a great time, and I would love to do it again. They rotate paintings every three months, so for the next three months I am sure we will have quite a bit to chose from. There is even a tiger eye painting at the end of the month...wink wink!!

A Birthday to Remember

Yesterday was my, let's call it, 23rd birthday. I have an issue with getting old, so we can go from there! Of course, Jay is the best husband in the entire world and made my birthday spectacular! He made me breakfast yesterday morning while I was getting ready for work, took me out to dinner, and got me the best presents a girl could ask for. He even let me watch Bravo without complaining one bit, and that's a miracle in itself. All in all, it was the best married birthday I have ever had ; )

I have an obsession with Tory Burch...and now I can wear her all the time! These will go amazingly with my navy blue bag and all of my gameday attire. Plus, they will be great all summer while we are at the lake!

They might even go amazingly with my new seersucker bathing suit. All of you that know me well, know that a southern wife cannot live without seersucker in her life. I mean we even had the boys wear seersucker instead of a tux at our wedding. I have been wanting this, but never went about getting it. Just couldn't Justify it!

After we went to dinner.

Rocking my 5" blue Joan and Davids. Love dressing up. We went to Dominick's in Lawrenceville for dinner, just thinking about it now is making me want to go back right now!

Fourth of July with the Williams

I love the 4th. It's one of my favorite holidays. Since my birthday is only two days after the fourth, we always celebrated on the 4th when I was a kid. I thought it was my holiday and absolutely loved it! This year we went up to the lake and spent time with family. We also spent time with friends down at the Braves game. We had so much fun...even with the heat included.

Tailgating at the Braves game with a lot of friends we haven't seen in a while. Wish we could have gotten more of us together, but definitely loved the time we spent with these folks!

View from General Admission, never sat this high in my life. It was so incredibly hot out there.

Sun finally starting to set. I give these seats one thing, you could definitely see every inch of the field. Now if you could just see the ball we would be set!

New hat from my bestie as a birthday present. I am going to wear it out before the week is over!

Haley begging for Doritos on the dock on a quick lunch break from swimming.

Following mom intently as she eats ribs.

How could you say no to this face?

Dad freaking out because there is lightning and rain on the lake as we are trying to watch the fireworks. No pain, no gain!

Some of the fireworks we got to see! Such a great show, and all for my birthday? HA!

A Very Festive Cookie

I decided to try out a new icing technique last week since we were getting close to the 4th of July. I have never used royal icing on a sugar cookie before, and was pretty excited to see how it would turn out. I can honestly say that I do need some more practice, but it wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been. I actually had a lot of fun making them too.

Before you can start filling in any colors, you have to make an outline of some sort and let it dry. This creates a dam that the rest of the icing fills into.

After I had filled all of the colors in. They must be done color by color so the don't run.

I made some smaller cookies too that were just red. They ended up being the biggest hit since you could just pop them in your mouth.

Thinking about trying something else this week too. Not sure what, but I definitely want some more practice at this icing. So much fun!
